New Twisted Metal Is Developing by Firesprite
On Monday, VGC announced that Twisted Metal was no longer being relaunched by Lucid Games, which created the critically acclaimed Destruction AllStars. Now the same publication, still citing its own sources, claims that the project was given to Firesprite.
The reason for this rearrangement is unknown to journalists – we dare to suggest that Sony and its dissatisfaction with the Destruction AllStars score on Metacritic are “to blame”.
But what is curious is that Matt Southern, who participated in the development of games in the MotorStorm and Driveclub series, left the position of game director of Lucid Games and took a similar position at Firesprite.
By the way, the latter was acquired by Sony last fall, and several VR projects appear on its account, including the recently announced Horizon Call of the Mountain for PS VR2. Moreover, Firesprite did not develop all these projects independently, but acted as a support.
