NetEase Games has released a 19-minute gameplay demo for Blood Message, shown shortly after the game's appearance at Summer Game Fest 2026.
This is NetEase's first single-player AAA title, developed by studio 24 Entertainment Lin'an. The game is a cinematic story-driven third-person action adventure set in medieval China. The footage showcases a section set in the city of Shazhou, where the protagonist attempts to escape pursuers — highlighting the combat system and stealth mechanics.
The story is set in the mid-9th century during the city of Dunhuang's uprising against occupiers. Historical records tell of ten messengers dispatched to cross the Gobi Desert and reach the Tang Empire's capital to request aid. Only one made it. That survivor is the game's protagonist.
Blood Message is in development for PC and current-generation consoles. No release date has been announced.
