KING Art studio prepared a new gameplay demonstration for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4. The fresh video is dedicated to the ferocious Ork army.
Cheapest Units, WAAAGH! Power
Orks possess some of the game's cheapest units and buildings, with their most notable feature being the "WAAAGH!" mechanic. It's straightforward — the more Orks on the battlefield and the more enemies they destroy, the faster a special energy bar fills. Upon activation, all units become more powerful and aggressive. Regarding commanders, beyond familiar Gorgutz, players control newcomer Guzzkutta with his squiggoth mount.
Developer Commentary
According to KING Art, excluding Orks from Dawn of War was completely unthinkable. They're one of the series' iconic factions alongside the Blood Ravens, and the team couldn't resist bringing back Warboss Gorgutz. Beyond characters, what makes Orks so interesting is they're possibly the only Warhammer 40,000 faction that always enjoys war. This feeling of insatiable bloodlust plays a very important role in their combat approach.
The WAAAGH! mechanic acts as an energy indicator filling based on Ork battlefield numbers and enemy kills. WAAAGH! can be activated to give squads a decisive advantage. After activation, each combat unit enters berserk state, becoming stronger and fiercer. As expected, WAAAGH! timing is a very important part of successfully completing battles with your Ork army.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 is planned for release by year's end exclusively on PC (Steam).
