Alan Wake 2 Update: Accessibility Improvements

Alan Awake2

Very soon it will be a year since the release of Alan Wake 2. As it turns out, Remedy has been actively preparing for this day — the studio has announced a large patch for the game. The team will add changes from the "quality of life" category and accessibility options, which the community most often requested.

According to Remedy, work on the sequel did not stop after the release. The team not only worked on the Night Springs and The Lake House expansions, but also collected feedback from gamers. This data formed the basis for the upcoming update in honor of the first anniversary of Alan Wake 2.

The celebratory update will be available to all owners of the second part tomorrow. The patch contains the "largest set" of quality of life and accessibility adjustments in the history of Alan Wake 2.

Let's list the main changes:

  • It will be possible to invert the X-axis when playing on a controller and "keyboard and mouse". Previously, it was only possible to invert the Y-axis.
  • On PlayStation 5, aiming using a gyroscope will be implemented. In addition, many corresponding settings will be screwed on.
  • If previously the DualSense tactile feedback only responded to weapons, then after the update the controller will begin to vibrate when using healing items and when throwing.
  • A new menu with accessibility settings will appear in the game. It will contain a lot of options such as quick turns, automatic QTE execution, immortality, one-shot kills, infinite ammo and batteries, and so on.

In addition, Remedy has prepared a funny gift for fans of the series from Finland. When purchasing a physical edition of Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition, the first fifty customers will receive a plastic bucket with the logo of the sequel. The promotion is only valid in Helsinki and Vantaa. Sales start on October 22.

By the way, the story add-on The Lake House for Alan Wake 2 will also be released at that time. Platforms - PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
