Push On Studios has unveiled Alkahest, a first-person action-adventure RPG in a dark medieval setting. The developers were inspired by Dishonored, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Alkahest will take players to the kingdom of Kadanor, which is mired in feudal strife, and the balance between the three major houses is in an extremely fragile state. At the center of the plot is the youngest son of a petty lord, who has to earn his place in this cruel world. To prove himself, the protagonist decided to find out why the goblins began to raid more often.
To the features of Alkahest developers attributed the following:
- Extensive opportunities during combat. Gamers will be able to creatively approach battles and use not only their own forces but also the environment. Opponents perfectly fly off the cliff, if you help them kick, or turn into a flapjack when something heavy falls on them.
- Alchemy instead of magic. By mixing ingredients, you can get oil for weapons, a bomb, a useful potion, or a corrosive substance that the player is free to throw at the enemy. You should act according to the recipe, but no one forbids you to throw random components into the cauldron and watch the result.
- A highly interactive and believable world with semi-open locations. Push On tried to strike a balance between free exploration and scripted gameplay.
- A down-to-earth setting with an emphasis on realism and a slight touch of fantasy.
- Elements of immersive sim like non-linear gameplay and combining mechanics.
Alkahest doesn't have a release date yet, but it is already known that the adventure RPG will visit PC (Steam) and unnamed consoles. More on the official site.
