Andrzej Sapkowski is working on another The Witcher book, with Geralt of Rivia once again set to take the lead. The author revealed the update during the Copernicon festival in Toruń, Poland, saying he currently expects to finish the manuscript by the end of 2027.
That timeline is still tentative. Sapkowski noted that his plans could change, and he has not announced a publication date, title, or plot details for the new novel. If the manuscript is only completed near the end of 2027, the book itself may not reach shelves until later.
What is clear is that Sapkowski intends to keep the focus on Geralt rather than shifting to another major character. When asked whether he might write a separate book from the perspective of someone such as Yennefer, the author said he saw no point in doing so.
The new project follows Crossroads of Ravens, Sapkowski's latest standalone Witcher novel. The book takes Geralt back to the beginning of his career, following an 18-year-old witcher shortly after leaving Kaer Morhen.
Sapkowski has not said whether the next book will continue the young Geralt storyline from Crossroads of Ravens or take place elsewhere in the Witcher timeline. For now, Geralt's return is the only story detail confirmed.
