Embark Studios has detailed the Frozen Trail update for ARC Raiders, launching October 8. The studio describes it as the biggest update since launch, with nearly every aspect of the game revisited based on months of player feedback.
The centerpiece is a new map set in a frozen, abandoned mountain settlement. Shani sends raiders to investigate a mysterious signal coming from beyond the mountains. The map is designed to be more vertical and dense with threats both underground and above.
A new operation built for experienced players is also coming — described as one of the most challenging and rewarding missions in ARC Raiders, demanding a mix of combat, teamwork, risk management, and survival.
New ARC machines populate the snow map, ranging from small and fast nuisances to massive robots that can't be outrun. They're designed to force players to rethink movement, combat, and adaptation on the fly.
The progression system is being overhauled — raider decks and the skill tree have been reworked for more build flexibility. A second base called the Outpost joins the existing underground Den, representing a push toward reclaiming the surface.
Additional content includes new weapons, gear, cosmetics, and tools, alongside anti-cheat, stability, and quality of life improvements.
ARC Raiders has sold over 16 million copies and is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
