Ubisoft has officially unveiled Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, a remake of the 2013 classic developed by Ubisoft Singapore with involvement from the original team. The game launches July 9.
Edward Kenway's story remains the core — the journey from corsair to Assassin against the backdrop of the Golden Age of Piracy in the Caribbean. The remake is built on an updated version of the Anvil engine, also used in Assassin's Creed Shadows, with reworked lighting, ray tracing, fully updated character models, and a significantly improved water system. Weather now affects the environment and combat.
Gameplay Changes
Combat has been redesigned with new finishers, improved parrying, and quick combos using pistols and darts. A new enemy type called the Saboteur has been added. Stealth has been expanded — Edward can now crouch anywhere, hide in shadows, and dive from any location, with visibility affected by lighting. Parkour is faster and more fluid, with wall-push-offs in multiple directions and smoother transitions.
Naval combat gains additional weapon types and varied enemy ship loadouts. The fleet system has been reworked — captured ships now generate passive income through trade and missions.
New Content
Players can hire officers for the Jackdaw, each with unique abilities, take on new missions, and customize the ship. Pets like a cat or monkey can be kept on board. Around ten new sea shanties join the existing roster. Composer Woodkid returns to the series for the first time since the iconic Iron track from the Assassin's Creed Revelations trailer in 2011.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced launches July 9 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
