Baldur's Gate 3 Final Evil Patch Release

Baldurs Gate 3 Evil

The seventh major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 began testing in mid-summer, and now it’s set to be released. Larian calls the update final: they don’t plan to release more such weighty additions (although smaller edits with new features will still appear).

Technical details:

  • The patch weighs about 11.6 gigabytes and requires 160 gigabytes of free space for installation. If you don't have that much, Larian recommends simply deleting the game and downloading it again.
  • The patch will be available on consoles and Mac in October. Until then, cross-saving between PC and other platforms is temporarily unavailable (difference in versions!).
  • Third-party mods may have broken with the release of the patch - Larian recommends checking compatibility with the authors of the modifications. However, mods that work via Script Extender should survive the move to the new version relatively painlessly: the seventh patch was created with the participation of Norbyte, the author of Script Extender.

Now, let's recap the main features included in patch 7:

  • New endings for evil characters. It seems that some of them are so brutal that the "Show Nudity" option in the menu has been renamed to "Show Nudity and Violence in Cutscenes" (and affects some of the new endings). This option is mainly intended for streamers.
  • Official mod support. There is now a mod manager in the game (where you can view and download folk creations), and a mod creation toolkit has become available on Steam. The mod manager will also appear on consoles, and for convenience, mods can be saved to your profile via a browser.
  • New legendary actions for some enemies on the "Valor" difficulty level.

The full list of edits is much longer, includes many fixes and takes up several pages. You can drown in the patch notes on the official website.

In the future, Baldur’s Gate 3 will also introduce photo mode and crossplay, and continue to fix bugs. But in general, Larian is saying goodbye to the game and switching to other projects.
