Larian Studios released the latest content update for Baldur’s Gate 3 earlier last month. Back then, the update was only available to PC players, but now it’s finally making its way to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Mac.
Among the main innovations:
- Official support for user modifications (you won't be able to create mods on consoles, but no one has stopped you from installing them!)
- New villainous endings for each of the playable heroes, including both the regular protagonist and the Dark Temptation. In total, the patch has thirteen new cinematic inserts.
- New legendary actions for especially dangerous enemies on the Valor difficulty level.
- More flexible gameplay settings and difficulty elements - now you can add the characteristic mechanics of Valor to the regular game.
- Expansion of local co-op with dynamic split-screen.
- New content and various events in the game world.
- New animations and scripts.
- A huge number of bug fixes and shortcomings.
At the same time, another hotfix was released for the game, aimed at fixing bugs and improving the stability of the threequel with installed modifications. For example, the problem with the inability to launch a cooperative passage after installing mods was solved. In addition, the official mod manager will now correctly display projects with increasing popularity.
In honor of the release of the update, the developers published a new animated short film dedicated to the madness of the modding world. Larian also noted that over the past month, players have downloaded over a thousand mods, and the number of installations of these very mods has exceeded fifteen million.
While the seventh update is a final one of sorts, Baldur’s Gate 3’s content support is still not complete. The game will continue to receive smaller patches in the near future with fixes and long-promised features like photo mode and cross-platform co-op support.
