Bethesda Will Shut Down The Elder Scrolls: Blades in June

The Elder Scrolls Blades

The life cycle of yet another mobile game has come to an end. This time, it’s The Elder Scrolls: Blades that’s on its last legs, with its servers set to officially shut down on June 30.

The closure was announced by the developers at Bethesda themselves. Starting today and until the game’s shutdown, all in-game items in the store will be sold for 1 gem or 1 sigil. After the servers are shut down, Blades will become unavailable on all platforms.

As a reminder, The Elder Scrolls: Blades launched in early access on iOS and Android in the spring of 2019. Following its full release in 2020, it also made its way to the Nintendo Switch and landed in 10th place on Metacritic’s list of the year’s lowest-rated games.

The Elder Scrolls Blades 10

In The Elder Scrolls: Blades, players took on the role of the Blade—an Imperial agent clearing procedurally generated dungeons to gather resources for building their settlement. From the moment of its release, the game received low ratings from the audience. The main reason for this was aggressive monetization.
