Crowbar Collective, the studio behind the Half-Life remake, has released the online action game Rogue Point. Team17 has taken on publishing the project.
The game's landscape is a dystopian future. The CEO, the richest man on earth, is dead. Ruthless conglomerates are trying to tear his empire apart. Through the MERX app, businessmen easily hire private armies. Only an independent elite squad, Rogue Point, dares to fight back against the mercenaries.
The game is a PvE shooter that supports up to four people. Crowbar Collective promises a variety of enemy types, four types of locations, and procedural map generation, making each playthrough unique. Gradually, you will unlock new guns, cosmetics, and campaign modifiers.
Rogue Point already has a page on Steam. The release date is 2025. Apparently, the new game will be released in early access - this is hinted at by the words of Adam Engels, the head of Crowbar: "We’re very excited to share that we have partnered with Team for our upcoming co-op shooter, Rogue Point. We cannot wait to go in depth about the game, and everything we learned while creating a new [intellectual property] (as well as turning Crowbar Collective into a full-time development studio). We can’t thank Team 17 enough for their support and expertise. Just like Black Mesa, we want to heavily involve the community in our development and updates. Our community was critical in the Early Access of Black Mesa and having Team 17 as a partner for Rogue Point helps us focus on development and community feedback!"
