MercurySteam's action RPG Blades of Fire has launched on Steam with a 25% discount through May 21, alongside the substantial version 2.0 update.
New Content in Update 2.0
- New Game+ — most stats and upgrades carry over, enemy strength scales to the player's health level, and 27 exclusive NG+ statues unlock new weapon parts
- Titan difficulty — enemies have more health and armor, deal 20% more damage, and boss fight timings are tighter
- Anvil Trials — rematch bosses from the main campaign, now with additional mechanics
- Arcana — ancient spells that apply passive buffs to weapons, purchased with medals earned from Anvil Trials
- Transmutation system — convert materials into other materials directly at the forge
Other Improvements
Updated death and injury animations, smoother animation transitions, photo mode, new achievements, NVIDIA DLSS 4 support, keyboard and mouse remapping, Steam Deck support, and the ability to pet the buffalo.
The game follows Aran de Lira, the last warrior capable of forging steel, who explores semi-open locations, fights monsters, and crafts weapons alongside a young companion. The forging mechanic is central — material and part choices directly affect weapon performance.
Blades of Fire is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
