CD Projekt has sold GOG.com, its PC game distribution platform, to Michał Kiciński, co-founder of both CD Projekt and GOG. Kiciński acquired 100% of shares for approximately 90.7 million zlotys, roughly $25 million.
Future Collaboration Secured
The agreement includes provisions for future cooperation, ensuring upcoming CD Projekt Red games release on GOG while allowing CD Projekt to focus on game development. Kiciński expressed confidence that CD Projekt, with its exceptional AAA games, will continue supporting GOG's offerings, positioning the platform as the premier destination worldwide for purchasing The Witcher and Cyberpunk titles — both existing games and highly anticipated future releases.
DRM-Free Values Preserved
Kiciński affirmed that GOG will remain true to its core values of freedom, independence, and genuine game ownership. The platform will maintain its DRM-free game offerings and operational independence.
