Life in Cities: Skylines 2 did not work out from the very beginning. The developers failed to properly optimize the game, and Paradox Interactive was forced to return funds for the failed DLC. Now the console version of urban development is suffering - its launch had to be postponed.
As Paradox Interactive explained, the team was unable to reach the target levels for stability and performance in the current build. “Since we don’t have a preliminary version, now we won’t make it in time for the release date scheduled for October,” the developers threw up their hands.
Nevertheless, experts are optimistic about the future. The process is slow, but progress is still being made. The developers are currently trying to solve a set of problems that are negatively impacting the gameplay. The new preview version should appear in August - it will undergo evaluation, after which Paradox Interactive will understand whether it is possible to begin preparations for release or whether it will have to tinker with the assembly.
Therefore, for now, Cities: Skylines 2 does not even have an approximate release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Finally, the experts thanked the public for their understanding and support. Developers will really need all this, given previous failures related to strategy.
