Hooded Horse and Limbic Entertainment — known for Tropico 6 and Might & Magic Heroes 7 — have announced Corsair Cove, a pirate-themed city builder launching later this year.
The game is set at the twilight of the golden age of piracy. After a shipwreck, the player and their crew wash up on an island and start from scratch — building a shelter, setting up production chains, and assembling a fleet.
The standout building mechanic allows structures to be placed not just on flat ground but on cliffs, hillsides, and vertical surfaces. A small camp gradually grows into a fortified base with houses, taverns, factories, and defensive structures. Economy runs on long production chains covering dozens of goods — food, clothing, weapons, and equipment — with logistics handled through bridges, rope systems, and other infrastructure.
Crew morale is an ongoing management challenge. Experienced pirates eventually demand more than basic rum and food — comfort and rare goods become expectations. Neglecting the crew means losing them.
Naval gameplay runs alongside the base building. Captains set out on expeditions, raid other territories, gather rare resources, and take part in events. Ship battles play out in turn-based format, with crew composition, ship type, and tactics all mattering. Encounters with legendary pirates and mythical creatures like krakens are also promised.
Corsair Cove is coming to PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.
