Crimson Desert is a fantasy action-adventure game where dragons fit right in—but the latest gameplay clip reveals players will face a mechanical beast, not a typical winged serpent.
The video highlights a main storyline quest where the protagonist, Kliff, gets entangled in the schemes of genius scientist Marni. Fans of Pearl Abyss’ Black Desert might recall a character with the same name and thirst for knowledge. While these are distinct characters, both push boundaries with unconventional methods.
In Marni’s secret lab, filled with bizarre devices far advanced for Crimson Desert’s medieval world, the scientist (via projection) tasks Kliff with retrieving the heart of the “Golden Star” to destroy a flying fortress. As it turns out, the “Golden Star” is a colossal mechanical dragon. To reach it, Kliff must ascend to the top of a castle, battling groups of enemies along the way.
Crimson Desert is slated for release on March 19, 2026, on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Early purchases of any edition grant the Khaled Shield, with PS5 players also receiving the Grothvant Armor set.
