Headup and Tag of Joy have announced Crowns and Pawns: Amber Road, a new entry in the point-and-click adventure series. No release date has been set.
Protagonist Milda Kovač is accused of stealing the Sunstone — a unique amber artifact whose fragments are scattered along the Amber Road, with legend claiming that whoever assembles them all gains supernatural powers. To prove her innocence, Milda travels from Lithuania across Europe, visiting Austria, Italy, and other countries along the way.
Gameplay involves solving puzzles, collecting and combining items, reading notes, and talking to locals. The story weaves together Baltic mythology, European history, and legends of ancient gods. Dangerous encounters and mysterious locations await throughout the journey.
The game features fully voiced characters, hand-drawn 4K backgrounds, and customizable outfits for Milda. The soundtrack is composed by Daniel Pharos, known for A New Beginning, Memoria, and Blackguards.
The game is coming to PC via Steam.
