Action RPG Dauntless, which left early access in September 2019, continues to receive support from Phoenix Labs. Developers call the upcoming update the largest since release, coinciding with the game's Steam debut after being an Epic Games Store exclusive.
The Awakening update includes:
- New monster Karkonos, created with community input, available in Twilight Realm hunting grounds alongside Brineguard armor crafting materials
- 18 new weapons including Silver Sword and Golden Claws - 7 from early quests, 11 exchangeable for tokens. Each weapon features 60 levels and 25 talents
- Removal of Reforge system with compensation rewards
- Simplified lantern system - all players get basic lantern with customizable appearance
- New Hunt Pass replacing Vault Pass and Event Pass, with compensation for previous pass owners
- Reworked cell system, weapon trackers, and streamlined in-game currencies
- New animals, cosmetics, and monster behavior updates
- Story reset for all players with tutorial explaining changes; inventory items and activity progress preserved
Developers promise more updates, fresh content, trials, and wayfinder rewards.
Dauntless is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch with cross-play and cross-progression support.
