Dead Cells Final Update Released: The End is Near

Dead Cells Update

Dead Cells is completing its development cycle (faster than the developers would like). The game received the final 35th update called The End is Near.

The new additions focus on one of the game's iconic mechanics: the curse. Among the main features of the update:

  • Three new mobs that curse you. They are easiest to find in biomes with a curse effect, where additional rewards also lie.
  • Three new types of weapons, also associated with curses: for example, one of them causes critical hits if the target is below 50% health, but also curses you if the hit does not kill the target.
  • Three new mutations, whose mechanics also revolve around curses.
  • New legendary properties. For example, Filthy Rich increases your critical hit multiplier along with the amount of gold your character has.
  • More than 40 new heads for the main character.
  • New routes: For example, you can now get to both biomes from Return to Castlevania in one playthrough.
  • More accessibility settings: for example, more readable button icons, a background for most text in the game, the ability to configure stick dead zones individually, and more.

You can find the whole description of the update here.

The authors promise to release small patches, but Dead Cells will no longer have major content updates.

Currently, some Dead Cells authors are working on the cooperative action game Windblown, while others are working on the spin-off The Rogue Prince of Persia.
