The developers announced that the final update for Dead Cells would be released in 2024 back in February. Now Motion Twin and Evil Empire have decided on the release date for the 35th update - August 19.
The End is Near patch will introduce more enemies, weapons, and mutations that interact with the curse mechanic. They will also introduce 40 new heads for the protagonist and establish an exit from the owner’s Citadel in the royal castle.
Let us remind you that the developers decided to stop support due to workload on other projects. And although there will be no new content in the roguelike metroidvania after The End is Near, it will continue to receive small patches with bug fixes.
What will both teams focus on after Dead Cells support ends? Motion Twin is working on the action roguelike Windblown, while Evil Empire specialists will continue to develop The Rogue Prince of Persia, as well as work on an unnamed franchise project from a third-party company.
