Publisher PLAION and developers Dambuster Studios have announced Dead Island 2: Ultimate Edition, as well as the Neighborhood Watch game mode. The latter will be included in the action game along with the sixth major patch.
Dead Island 2: Ultimate Edition will go on sale on October 22. On board is the base game with all updates and story expansions (Haus and SoLA), as well as a bunch of cosmetic items and deadly weapons. The edition also contains a set of piercing and cutting items in the spirit of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and several other "packs".
Simultaneously with the launch of the ultimate edition, Dead Island 2 will receive the sixth patch with "New Game +" and the cooperative "Horde" mode called Neighborhood Watch.
Let's take a closer look at the update:
- In "New Game +", gamers can transfer their characters and weapons to a new playthrough. To keep things interesting, the developers have prepared fresh challenges and rewards, as well as an additional slot for skills and an increased level cap.
- Neighborhood Watch was developed by the Fishlabs team (the creators of the space shooter Chorus) with the support of Dambuster. The mode will offer to play as three students who could not be evacuated from Los Angeles. They formed the "Lynx" group and are preparing to defend themselves from hordes of zombies. The session lasts five game days, during which you need to collect supplies, complete tasks and build a defense. The living dead will come on the fifth day.
- Each team member has their own role and weapon, as well as unique talents: the chemist makes traps and explosive brews, the medic provides healing, and the hunter deals a lot of damage at a distance thanks to a crossbow.
Recall that Dead Island 2 was released in April 2023. The game is currently available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation and Xbox.
