The Vessel of Hatred expansion introduces a unique new addition to the Diablo series - the Spiritborn class, which had no direct analogs in previous parts. The day before, Blizzard held a stream where they showed the character in detail.
"Spiritborn are versatile warriors who fuse devastating three-hit-combo attacks and acrobatic fluidity into a potent display of their ferocity. They are masters of hand-to-hand combat, doling out lethality at close range through the ability to extend their wrath with the aid of spirit energy and their favored demon-slaying implement, the glaive. Their physical prowess allows them to block or dodge incoming strikes, absorbing this power for themselves or redirecting it back at their aggressors." - The official source.
Spiritborn can receive the power of several creatures:
- Jaguar - strikes the victim with a series of rapid attacks, not giving enemies any time to breathe.
- Gorilla - stands out for its endurance and powerful attacks.
- Eagle - delivers incredibly accurate attacks and has increased movement speed.
- Centipede - relies on poison damage and control effects.
Vessel of Hatred will also introduce unique items for Spiritborn: they will help develop different areas of leveling. In addition, the class has a separate quest that opens the abode of spirits - a special mechanic for combining and developing the effects of spirits.
Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred launches on October 8th.
