Klei Entertainment has announced Don't Starve Elsewhere, a new standalone survival game set in the Don't Starve universe. No release date has been set. The game is coming to PC via Steam.
Players explore a brand new world solo or with friends, gathering resources, building a base, and fighting to stay alive. The key difference from previous entries is a more complex world structure — snowy mountains, turbulent rivers and seas, and deep caves are all part of the same interconnected map. Procedural generation ensures each run plays out differently, with new biomes offering rare resources and unexpected threats.
Weather is a constant challenge: dense forests bring relentless rain, mountains are swept by cold winds, and aggressive creatures defend their territories throughout. A mysterious fog slowly spreads across the world, distorting everything it touches. Players must decide whether to avoid it or risk their sanity to uncover what hides within.
