MMO survival game Dune: Awakening received an update introducing the long-awaited character transfer feature. Sleepers are no longer tied to the server where they created their hero.
Transfer System Details
Now players can gather belongings, including bank savings, base and vehicle backups, and move to a new location. To accomplish this, a transfer token is required. The system immediately provides one — after use, it automatically regenerates in seven days.
Important Transfer Preparations
As Funcom developers write, character transfer is a serious matter. Before proceeding with the operation, ensure everything necessary is in inventory or the bank, and backups are made.
- Using backup and restore tools, create copies of bases and vehicles, otherwise they remain in the old world and disappear.
- If tool memory fills up, vehicles must be disassembled into parts and transferred that way. As for bases, only three can be saved.
- Transfer is only available in Hagga Basin. The transfer can be initiated from the server list or in-game system menu.
- Once the process starts, players must follow on-screen instructions.
Future Server Migration
Funcom reminded they continue working on the server migration feature. It will be included in a future Dune: Awakening update releasing after Chapter 3's launch. Playing the Dune MMO is currently only possible on Steam.
