Dune: Awakening Is Scaling Back Endgame PvP Content

Dune Awakening Pvp Content

Funcom has outlined upcoming changes to Dune: Awakening's content direction, with the most significant shift being a reduced focus on PvP in the endgame. Internal data shows that over 80% of players have stuck exclusively to PvE content throughout their playtime, prompting the studio to rethink how PvP and PvE intersect — particularly in the Deep Desert.

The Changes Arrive in Patch 1.3.20.0

  • All PvP zones in the Hagga Basin will be disabled across all official worlds.
  • The Deep Desert will split into two versions — one with PvP and one without. The PvP version offers 2.5x more resources to reward the additional risk.

The update also introduces long-awaited private servers, letting players configure their own rules — resource gathering speed, base building element limits, item durability, and more. Additional settings are planned based on player feedback.

Dune: Awakening currently holds over 74,000 Steam reviews at 70% positive. Console versions are planned for later this year.
