Keen Games has released Forging the Path, the final pre-release content update for Enshrouded before the full launch this fall. The full patch notes are available on the Steam page.
Key Changes and Additions
- Combat improvements — melee weapons now have heavy attacks, two-handed sword combo chains are longer, and enemy behavior has been adjusted to give stealth playthroughs more opportunities
- Skill tree overhaul — full rebalance with many perks made cheaper. All player progression has been reset and skill points refunded for redistribution in the updated tree
- Gear upgrade system — armor, shields, and rings can now be upgraded the same way as weapons, gaining additional effects. Higher rarity items have more upgrade potential
- Adventure Sharing (first version) — players can now share their builds with other players and the community. The feature will expand over time to support full adventures with puzzles and traps
- Revised starting area for a clearer tutorial experience
- Quest log visual update — quests are now split into main and side categories
- Quick sort station — automatically distributes collected resources into nearby chests
- Resources from nearby chests are now automatically accessible during building
Enshrouded has been in Steam Early Access since January 2024. The full release is planned for this fall, alongside PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions.
