Euro Truck Simulator 2 Hits New Peak Player Count — 13 Years After Release

Euro Truck2

Hardcore truckers, crack open the non-alcoholic champagne! Games rarely set new audience peaks years after launch — but that's exactly what happened with Euro Truck Simulator 2. A full thirteen years after release, the steering wheel spinning and loan payment simulator is more alive than ever. The project has climbed Steam charts again, gathering 72,678 concurrent players — the best figure in the project's history.

Nordic Expansion Drives Traffic

The reason is simple and pleasant — fresh DLC sending players to conquer the north. SCS Software released two expansions: Nordic Horizons and Forest Machinery. The former transports virtual drivers to picturesque Scandinavia with serpentine mountain roads, forest paths, and routes along lakes and fjords. The latter expands accessory options for multi-ton "birds" and adds new cargo types.

Dedicated Community Keeps Rolling

Euro Truck Simulator 2 has maintained its status as one of the most popular simulators for years. Fans sometimes build full truck cabins at home for complete atmospheric immersion. It's hard to count how many location-based DLCs SCS Software has already produced — from France and Italy to the Balkans and Greece.

As a reminder, Euro Truck Simulator 2 is available on PC via Steam. Through December 11, the base game is 75% off.
