In just weeks, the first part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy arrives on new platforms — Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. With the relatively imminent release approaching, developers at Square Enix released a new trailer and launched a demo.
How to Access the Demo
On Xbox Series, the demo is available for simple download through Microsoft Store, while Switch 2 players need to enter one of the regional codes in the eShop:
- USA — D3GM3304HKQBB2VB
- Europe — D3GM3304HKPBB2VB
- Japan — D3GM3304H3DBB2VB
- South Korea — D3GM3304H3CBB2VB
- Hong Kong / Taiwan — D3GM3304H3BBB2VB
- Southeast Asia — D3GM3304HY9BB2VB
Opening Chapter Playable
The demo lets players complete the opening chapter where Cloud Strife, alongside Avalanche group members, embarks on a mission to destroy a Mako reactor. Completion rewards bonus items in the full release — "Revival Earrings" and "Survival Kit."
January 22 Release and Beyond
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade launches on Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 on January 22. Meanwhile, developers continue working on the concluding third part of the remake, scheduled for release no later than 2027. Since Square Enix abandoned the timed exclusivity model, there's high probability the finale will be multiplatform from day one.
