Flat2VR is a young studio that has set itself the goal of porting "flat" games to virtual reality. The team announced the first bunch of such projects, the loudest of which is the racing arcade FlatOut.
There are few official details yet:
- Flat2VR promises to reimagine FlatOut for virtual reality - there will at least be races and demolition derbies.
- It is not specified which part is taken as a basis, but FlatOut 4: Total Insanity can be guessed in the locations and promotional art.
- FlatOut VR will be released on Quest 2, Quest 3, PlayStation VR2, and SteamVR helmets. There is no release date yet.
In addition to FlatOut, the Flat2VR team announced VR versions of the boomer shooter Wrath: Aeon of Ruin, the roguelike Roboquest, and the funny rhythm game Trombone Champ.
The studio came together from the community of the same name and includes enthusiasts who made VR modifications of Half-Life 2, Doom, Quake 3, and Outer Wilds.
