Maverick Games has signed with Focus Entertainment to publish Clutch, a narrative open-world racing game launching spring 2027 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
Maverick was founded by former Playground Games developers who worked on the Forza Horizon series. Clutch was originally set to be published by Amazon Game Studios before Amazon walked away from the project in February 2026, with Maverick retaining the rights.
The game is set on the French Riviera and follows Theo Marcial and his sister Cass as they navigate both professional and street racing scenes, getting caught up in a conspiracy woven through the local racing world. The story centers on themes of family, legacy, and betrayal.
Players drive through mountains, villages, vineyards, and canyons. Sanctioned races take place during the day, street races run at night, and high-speed chases are part of the mix.
