11 bit studios held a Frostpunk franchise showcase and revealed plans across the series.
Frostpunk 2: Breach of Trust — June 23
The second DLC for Frostpunk 2 launches June 23 on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, with Russian text localization. A closed playtest is planned for May — applications are open via the official site.
The story takes place in New Edinburgh, a city built at the foot of a volcano powering its generator. Irresponsible use of geothermal energy has destabilized the volcano, putting the city at serious risk. Players take on the role of First Citizen after the previous Captain is overthrown.
Key features include a story covering the fate of New Edinburgh and its former colony Aurora, five unique communities and factions with their own ideologies, new environmental hazards including Tremors and Volcanic Nights mechanics, colony management with options to trade peacefully, extort, or fully annex an independent settlement, two new scenario maps, five new buildings, and new laws.
A third DLC under the working title Surge is still planned for 2026.
Frostpunk on Nintendo Switch
The original Frostpunk is coming to Nintendo Switch, though no release date has been announced yet.
