Clover Bite has locked in a release date for Grime 2, the full-blown sequel to the acclaimed metroidvania Grime. The game launches March 31, and to mark the occasion, the studio dropped a new gameplay trailer and pushed a hefty update to the Steam demo.
The expanded demo now includes a slice of the second biome, new enemy types, fresh NPC interactions, a complete overhaul of the trait system, visual upgrades for the Temple and bosses, difficulty settings, a stagger-escape mechanic, and "much more."
In Grime 2, players take on the role of the Formless Mimic — a creature capable of absorbing enemies and stealing their abilities. The big twist this time around is the clone summoning system: defeated monsters can be called back as allies, and they're useful not just in combat but also for navigating and exploring the world around you.
Grime 2 will launch exclusively on PC via Steam first, with console versions planned for a later date.
