Halo Infinite — That's All: Studio Ends Support and Shifts to New Projects

Halo Infinite Burning News

It looks like Halo Infinite turned out to be quite Finite. After four years of updates, the game is officially receiving its final major patch. Developers at Halo Studios have confirmed they'll now focus on creating multiple new projects in the Halo universe, including the recently announced Halo: Campaign Evolved—a remake of the original 2001 Halo: Combat Evolved.

The Halo franchise has remained one of the icons of first-person shooters for over two decades. Over that time, the series has achieved cult status thanks to its massive space battles and distinctive style.

Ahead of the series' 30th anniversary (next year in 2026, marking Halo: Combat Evolved's debut), the studio plans to "relaunch" the brand with fresh energy.

Halo Infinite's final update, titled Operation: Infinite, launches on November 18. It adds new maps, armor, challenges, and double XP, but marks the end for major content.

Despite ending active support, the game won't be fully abandoned: servers and core features will keep running. However, the studio's resources will now go toward new projects.

For now, only Halo: Campaign Evolved is confirmed, but rumors suggest Halo Studios is also working on a live-service game in the Halo universe slated for 2026. A new mainline entry is possible, though nothing's official yet.

You can jump into Halo Infinite's final update on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox, and via Game Pass Ultimate or higher tiers.
