Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea Announced

The game takes place in the region of Teradea, where a mysterious fog from the Echo Forest and nightly wolf attacks near the village of Bloomfield set the story in motion. Locals speak of a giant guardian beast controlling the wolves. The protagonist and their best friend set out to investigate — and end up on a much larger journey across several settlements: Tidewind (plagued by destructive storms), Quarritop (shaken by earthquakes), and Maplehille (a once-thriving cultural hub in decline).

Between story beats, the game delivers the core Harvest Moon loop: farming, crop growing, animal raising, and building a life. The Harvest Goddess and villagers across the region lend a hand, and the hero gradually uncovers the truth behind the fog and Teradea's fate.

New exploration mechanics let players climb vines and ladders, jump to hidden spots, and reach hard-to-access resource nodes. Animal companions can be taken on the road, each with unique abilities to aid exploration. Wild predators — wolves, bears, and tigers — roam the world; getting caught costs items and sends the player back to the farm. Treasure islands can be unlocked using sea maps, offering distant lands, rare animals, and hidden loot.

Ten romance candidates are available — five men and five women — with full relationship and family-building options. Helping villagers earns a resource called Happilia, which tracks the player's contribution to the region's recovery.

Natsume president Hiro Maekawa has confirmed more details on new mechanics and guardian spirits are coming in the months ahead. Pre-order bonuses and special editions are also in the works.
