NVIDIA has confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy and Where Winds Meet will get DLSS 5 support in November 2026. Hogwarts Legacy's update arrives on November 5, and Where Winds Meet follows later in the month. Both games will use a new version of NVIDIA's AI rendering model that runs twice as fast as the version released in September.
NVIDIA announced the dates on October 13, along with improvements to DLSS 5's 3D-Guided Neural Rendering. Unlike traditional upscaling, DLSS 5 uses AI to improve lighting and material detail in rendered scenes. Characters and environments look different as a result, but the game's original assets stay in place.
Avalanche Software worked with NVIDIA to keep Hogwarts Legacy's original visual style intact. The studio used controls in NVIDIA's SDK to tune how the AI rendering affects individual elements. This matters because unwanted changes to how characters look and to a game's art direction have been among the main complaints about the technology.
The model itself has changed a lot since September. The new version is 24% smaller, uses 20% less VRAM at 4K, and has half the GPU overhead. NVIDIA says this makes neural rendering twice as fast with comparable image quality.
NVIDIA also claims DLSS 5 is now ten times faster than when it was first announced in March 2026. In NBA 2K27, which got DLSS 5 in September, the updated model reportedly raises frame rates by up to 1.4x. Both figures are NVIDIA's own, not independent benchmarks.
Hogwarts Legacy's DLSS 5 update will work on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, NVIDIA RTX Spark laptops, and GeForce NOW. The November 5 patch also upgrades the game's existing DLSS features.
Where Winds Meet already supports DLSS Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution, and its update adds neural rendering. NVIDIA hasn't given an exact November date or a full list of supported hardware for that game yet.
The optimized model reaches NBA 2K27 first, on October 16.
