Behaviour Interactive has confirmed that Jason is coming to Dead by Daylight on June 16, timed to the game's tenth anniversary.
Jason is one of the most-requested killers since the game launched, despite dozens of iconic horror villains already appearing in the roster — Freddy Krueger, Nemesis, Michael Myers, Chucky, Leatherface, and many others. Notably, the character is referred to simply as "Jason" in the announcement, without mention of Friday the 13th or the Voorhees name — likely due to the long-running legal disputes surrounding the franchise's rights.
Behaviour Interactive has shown a short teaser featuring the iconic hockey mask and machete. The new killer's abilities haven't been revealed yet, nor has it been confirmed whether the Crystal Lake map will appear. More details are expected closer to the release.
Jason's return to games is broader than just Dead by Daylight — Horror Inc. has also confirmed a new Friday the 13th game and a new film are in development, serving as a relaunch following the shutdown of Friday the 13th: The Game.
Dead by Daylight is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
