As promised, Warhorse Studios has delivered the second story DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 today, introducing a new quest chain set in Kutná Hora.
In the Legacy of the Forge expansion, Henry encounters old friends of his adoptive father Martin and inherits a destroyed forge. Players must rebuild the workshop, help local residents with various problems, join the local blacksmith guild, and earn the title of master blacksmith by restoring a complex clockwork mechanism in the town center.
Throughout the DLC, players will witness scenes from Henry's childhood, meet new characters, practice blacksmithing, and customize their own dwelling. According to developers, Henry's personal forge offers over 100 million design combinations. Players can customize both the workshop itself and the surrounding area. However, money alone isn't enough for construction—to maintain balance and smooth progression, the developers introduced a new "prestige" resource earned by completing quests.
Alongside the DLC launch, the game received a massive 1.4 update packed with free content and improvements, including:
- Enhanced photo mode with time-of-day controls, light source positioning, depth of field adjustments, and removal of intoxication/poison visual effects
- Halberd combat changes - all polearm combos now consist of just three moves
- New sound effects for coin transactions during indulgence purchases
- Additional fast travel point near Sigismund's camp
- Improved NPC navigation in chicken coops
- Reduced drunk NPCs wandering Kutná Hora
- Better animations for intoxicated guards
- Batch selection for smoking house food drying
- Fixed tavern door bug at "Emperor Charles" inn
- Horse pathfinding fix preventing them from getting stuck in Božena's alchemy hut
- Extended timer for stolen horses in trader zones
- Prisoner reactions to thrown stones while in stocks
- Reputation bug fix that caused Henry's standing to drop randomly
- Adaptive UI that shows interface elements only when needed (toggleable)
- Ultrawide display improvements
- Intel XeSS Super Resolution 2.0 support
- Dozens of bug fixes and balance adjustments
Before year's end, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will receive one more expansion—Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC will task players with investigating secrets at Sedlec Monastery to prevent a deadly epidemic. All three DLCs are included in the season pass that comes with the game's Gold Edition.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. The game currently holds a "Very Positive" 93% rating on Steam based on over 80,000 reviews.
