Publisher Bohemia Interactive and developer Airo Games have revealed KNIGHTS OF THE FALL — a sci-fi hybrid combining 2D and 3D platforming elements. No release date has been announced yet.
The game follows Haru, a combat veteran, and his scientist partner Yoshida as they attempt to determine whether interdimensional travel is connected to the afterlife. To do this, they utilize technologies that control time and gravity.
The story begins with the founding of the secret NASS agency in 1947, created to decipher mysterious cosmic signals. These investigations accelerated Japan's technological progress, but in 1986, the launch of a zero-point energy reactor opened a portal to another dimension. Aliens invaded Earth, and humanity found itself caught in a war for survival.
Haru and Yoshida travel through a devastated world where every battle requires a tactical approach. Players will be able to alter gravity, stop or accelerate time, redirect enemy attacks, and use their forces against them. Each location — from ruined cities and underground laboratories to distorted anomalies — offers new challenges and pieces of hidden history.
The developers promise diverse enemies with unique behaviors, intense boss fights, an atmospheric hand-drawn world, and a cinematic soundtrack that amplifies the drama of each discovery.
Players will be able to unravel the bizarre mysteries of KNIGHTS OF THE FALL on PC via Steam.
