Akupara Games and Moonlight Kids have announced that Echo Weaver launches October 8 on PC and consoles, including Game Pass from day one.
The developers describe Echo Weaver as a "knowledge-based metroidvania." Progress doesn't come from finding new abilities — all abilities are available from the start. Instead, advancement comes from understanding how the world works and applying that knowledge to use those abilities effectively. Each loop through the time cycle builds on what the player has learned, gradually moving toward a perfect run.
Players take on the role of the last Weaver, keeper of a mysterious weapon capable of altering reality. The world is set among the ruins of a fallen civilization, populated by survivors with conflicting visions of the future. Characters encountered along the way include a pizza-delivering cat, a refugee leader, and a doomsday preacher. Unraveling a conspiracy at the heart of the world is the key to breaking the loop.
The developers compare Echo Weaver to a combination of Outer Wilds and Ori and the Blind Forest.
Echo Weaver launches October 8 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2. A free demo is available on Steam.
