Square Enix has released a colorful trailer for Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake. One of the most iconic JRPGs in the industry will be presented in an updated form in just two weeks. The developers have tried to preserve the classic elements of the gameplay and improve the visual component in the HD-2D style, where sprite animation coexists with a three-dimensional environment and detailed effects.
The series update began with Dragon Quest 3, as it is the first part in the so-called "Erdrick Trilogy" in terms of plot. The other two parts, namely Dragon Quest and Dragon Quest 2, will get similar remakes next year.
In Dragon Quest 3, players take control of the heir to the great Ortega. The hero left his wife and child and went to battle the Archdemon Baramos, from which the latter emerged victorious. After sixteen years, the king of Aliahan contacts Ortega's grown son and tells him to continue his father's mission, because the fate of the entire world is at stake.
Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake will be released on November 14 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.
