Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree Coming to Nintendo Switch

Mandragora

This past spring, developers at Primal Game Studio released their debut project — the metroidvania Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree, which launched on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Several months later, the creators have announced the release date for the promised Nintendo Switch version — the game will arrive on the new platform September 4th.

Mandragora invites players to dive into a dark fantasy world where monster invasions have forced humanity to hide behind sturdy walls. Players take control of one of the brave souls who decides to leave the safety of the fortification and fight back against the forces of entropy.

In terms of gameplay, Mandragora features classic elements mixed with action-RPG mechanics like an extensive upgrade system. Players can freely combine abilities from six different classes to create diverse custom builds.

Currently, Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree holds over two thousand "Mixed" reviews on Steam at 69%. Most gamers complain about difficulty balance and less-than-convenient gameplay elements, though it's worth noting that after post-launch patches, recent reviews have become "Mostly Positive" at 79%.
