Aeternum Game Studios has confirmed that Aeterna Lucis, the sequel to the acclaimed Aeterna Noctis, launches December 3. The game was originally planned for September 2025 but was delayed to avoid competition with Hollow Knight: Silksong, with the extra time used to overhaul the game across the board.
Key improvements highlighted by the studio include seamless location exploration without loading screens, improved dynamic lighting, a reworked map that shows miniature location images instead of abstract rectangles, a lore glossary for newcomers, two difficulty modes, and optimized performance across all platforms.
The story follows the Queen of Light as she attempts to stop the destruction of reality itself by challenging the Supreme God of Chaos while searching for a long-standing enemy.
Aeterna Lucis is coming to PC (Steam), PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
