Solo developer Kyle Thompson and publisher Top Hat Studios have announced that Well Dweller launches September 22. A free demo is available on Steam. The game also hits Game Pass on day one.
The game follows Blik, a tiny bird who lives at the bottom of a well and sets out armed with a match to burn the evil queen and save his family. Players explore dark fairy tale landscapes, fight nightmarish bosses, gain new abilities to expand the map, and collect trinkets to customize Blik's playstyle.
Along the way, Blik meets characters trying to survive on the fringes of the rotten kingdom — including Ilda, a mouse hiding from the queen, and Grabber, a mysterious scavenger roaming the land. Finding Blik's siblings, kidnapped by a crazed hunter, is another key objective.
Well Dweller is from the creator of Crypt Custodian and Islets, and is coming to PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
