MGS Delta: Snake Eater Reviews Drop Week Before Release

Mgs Delta Snake Eater 1

With exactly three weeks until Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launches, Konami appears confident in the remake's quality. This is evidenced by the fact that final reviews will begin appearing online starting August 22nd — a full 6 days before the game's release.

Enhanced Visuals and Technical Improvements

The remake preserves the beloved story, characters, voice performances, gameplay mechanics, and musical score that made the original legendary, while completely rebuilding them for current-generation hardware. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game features dramatically improved visuals that bring jungle environments to life with unprecedented detail.

Character models have received particular attention, with facial animations now capturing minute details like skin texture, pores, and individual eye movements. This level of fidelity allows for more expressive and emotionally resonant cutscenes throughout Snake's mission.

Gameplay Enhancements

The battle damage system has been significantly overhauled, with Snake's clothing deterioration, bruises, and wounds now displaying in real-time and persisting throughout the playthrough. This creates a visual narrative of each player's unique experience and challenges faced during their stealth operations.

Players can choose between modernized controls designed for contemporary gaming comfort, or stick with the classic control scheme that faithfully recreates the original experience.

New Content

Beyond technical improvements, the remake will include fresh material such as new scenes in the "Secret Theater" and an additional multiplayer mode called Fox Hunt for online enthusiasts.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launches August 28th on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
