If you like to play Minecraft while wearing a Sony VR headset, Mojang has some bad news for you. The studio announced that the cubic sandbox will soon stop supporting PlayStation VR. Recall that the game made friends with PS VR in September 2020.
According to the developer's post, their "ability to support PlayStation VR has reached the end of its life" — the headset will no longer work in Minecraft after March 2025. Once the final update for the headset is released, users will be able to continue digging cubes, but not in VR. All items purchased on the marketplace will remain on the account.
Mojang is currently working on a native version of Minecraft for PlayStation 5. Its release dates are still being kept secret, and the studio has not yet mentioned possible support for PS VR2.
In addition, the game's creators announced the next Minecraft LIVE broadcast, which will take place on September 28 at 20:00 Moscow time on YouTube, Twitch, and the official website of the project.
