Warner Bros Games and NetherRealm Studios have prepared a special announcement for San Diego Comic-Con 2024.  Mortal Kombat 1 will get Khaos Reigns story expansion and Kombat Pack 2 character pack, which was revealed a month ago by dataminers.

In Khaos Reigns, clouds are once again gathering over the world created by Liu Kang. This time the threat comes from an alternate timeline. The ruthless titan Havik, whose main goal is to plunge worlds into chaos, has made himself known. The God of Fire must gather his champions and persuade his opponents to defeat the villain.

Khaos Reigns also includes the Kombat Pack 2 fighter set. Below is a full list of the heroes in the pack:

  • Nub Saibot. In the new timeline, a henchman of Havik, created by him from Bi-Han's stolen soul.
  • Cyrax. Originally from the Zaki clan, one of Lin Kuei's sub-clans. Became a martial artist with an indomitable desire to serve the clan on her own terms or not at all.
  • Sector. The heroine has become Sab-Ziro's most loyal lieutenant. She is willing to do anything for the future of the clan.
  • Ghostface from the Scream movie series. In the game, he is voiced by Roger L. Jackson - he also recorded the lines for the movies.
  • Conan the Barbarian from the movie franchise of the same name. Arnold Schwarzenegger did not voice the character, Conan received only the actor's appearance.
  • Terminator T-1000 from “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” and “Terminator: Genesis”. Robert Patrick returned to the role.

The second Kombat Pack will not be sold separately from Khaos Reigns, but you can buy it with Kombat Pack 1. For pre-order of the pack, you will get new skins for Scorpion (wedding), Milina (Empress), Sab-Ziro, and Nub Saibot. The latter two will try on their own looks from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. In addition, NetherRealm has released a free skin for Scorpion in the spirit of the 1995 Mortal Kombat movie.

Khaos Reigns launches on September 24 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series for $50, and on Nintendo Switch for $40. Along with the release of the DLC, MK1 will receive an update with animality, a type of get-up that first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3. As shown in the trailer, Milina will turn into a mantis, Raine will become a puffer, and so on.
