Arc Games and Magic Design Studios have announced NAUTUS, an ocean exploration game with base building and co-op for up to four players.
Players explore a mysterious island and the underwater world surrounding it. A upgradeable submarine serves as the primary vehicle, with new modules, defensive gear, and weapons unlocking deeper dives — where dangerous sea mutants and strange creatures lurk. Underwater environments include coral reefs, sunken pirate ships, and anomalous zones filled with resources and ancient artifacts.
On the surface, players build and expand an outpost using rare materials gathered from the ocean. The island's inhabitants include characters with unusual personalities — an obsessive tanning diver, a mysterious expedition leader — who offer projects and gradually reveal what's going on.
The central mystery involves the disappearance of the protagonist's uncle, Bernard Torpedo. Uncovering what happened requires finding clues, collecting ancient relics, and venturing into the ocean's most dangerous areas.
Early Access launches in 2027 on PC via Steam.
