Cold Symmetry and publisher Playstack have released a full gameplay demo for Mortal Shell 2, the sequel to Mortal Shell, first announced at Summer Game Fest 2025.
The sequel takes place in a small open world and features a faster combat system built around detailed, varied weapons. As before, players inhabit Shells — the bodies of fallen warriors scattered across the world, each with distinct abilities.
The protagonist is the Herald, a being capable of possessing other bodies. Players explore diverse locations, uncover hidden paths and lore fragments, and battle a range of enemies.
Alongside the gameplay demo, the developers announced a standard physical edition at $49.99 and a collector's edition at $69.99 that includes a steelbook, artbook, and prints.
Mortal Shell 2 launches this year on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, with Russian text localization included.
