Nacon and Spiders have released a new trailer for GreedFall: The Dying World, this time focused on the game's locations across the continent of Gacane.
The title recently dropped the "2" from its name — this is a prequel, not a sequel, set three years before the original GreedFall. Gacane serves as the main setting, drawing inspiration from 17th-century Europe.
Players take on the role of a native of Tír Fradí who is enslaved and brought to the continent during the spread of the Malichor plague. After escaping captivity, the protagonist must find allies and navigate political intrigue to survive. On the gameplay side, the developers have shifted away from the action-focused combat of the first game in favor of tactical party-based mechanics with detailed companion control — think Dragon Age: Origins.
GreedFall: The Dying World has been in Steam Early Access since September 2024. The full release lands March 12, with early access owners getting in two days earlier on March 10. The game also arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series the same day.
